Raspberry gives tone to the uterus so it is beneficial for a mare that is having difficulty falling pregnant. Once the mare is pregnant, however, stop administering the herb as a precaution. Recommence using in the last 3 months of her term by adding to her feed with up to 1 cupful daily. Two to three weeks before the expected date of foaling increase the dose to a cupful twice daily. After she has foaled, continue this dose for 1 month, to assist the recovery of the uterus and encourage milk production. After this time, either stop giving the mare the herb or reduce the dose to 1 cupful daily for as long as you consider necessary.
